Playa Jardin Beach

Playa Jardin beach has been awarded the European blue flag for cleanliness and is a another fine example of a man made beach.

Rather than using Saharan sand which is typical of some of Tenerife’s other beaches, Playa Jardin has been formed using dark sand extracted from the surrounding sea bed and to protect the beach from coastal erosion Playa Jardin is protected by a partially submerged breakwater.

Playa Jardin is split into three main parts which are separated by outcrops of rocks. The beach is very child friendly and if you walk to the last beach there is a lovely waterfall where the children can play until their hearts are content.

The beach here is wonderful and even if you are unfortunate enough to have a dull day it is still very relaxing and nice just to lounge about.

There are public conveniences and some cafeterias at Playa Jardin and the main historical centre of Puerto de la Cruz is only a pleasant 10 minute stroll away from Playa Jardin beautiful beach or, if you are feeling really laid back (or particulary lazy) jump into a taxi for the short trip.
